XStream Fiber Internet
Sign Up Now to be ready for installation when construction resumes. (saving costly line charges later)
The MLEC/CTC fiber project is ongoing. Due to winter weather conditions and frost, we have halted installations of fiber drops to the home at this time. We will resume construction to others in the Spring. We are working to connect those with drops as soon as possible.
We continue to sign-up members in our Phase I area for the XStream fiber service. Contact our office for information and the contract.
Check to see if your address is in the Phase I fiber area. Click the XStream logo, enter your address and answer a few questions. It's easy. If you are not in the project build area, you can still express interest for future expansion on this site.
If you are interested in receiving XStream Internet and live in the Phase I area, it is very important that you commit to a 2-year contract and pay a $50 one-time connection. By doing this now, you will ensure that you will have fiber installed to your home using grant funds. If you choose to wait, charges after construction may range from $3-8 per foot, depending on each individual situation. We cannot stress enough how important it is to get signed up as part of this grant project. Even if you ‘re not an Internet user, consider your home’s resale if it had Fiber to the Home (FttH).
Stay tuned as the project continues. Follow us on Facebook, read our newsletter, check this website, or call us at 218-429-0433 or 800-497-5310.
MLEC is excited about this broadband endeavor! Stop by our office lobby and test for yourself the fiber connection we’ll be offering.
Phase 1 residents can find the fiber agreement here. Not sure if you're in the fiber service area? Contact our office.
