See how electricity is made at the largest power plant in North Dakota.
2019 Coal Creek Tour
July 31st - August 2nd
The air-conditioned charter bus leaves Aitkin on July 31st at 9:00 a.m. Participants will
stay at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel in Bismark, ND. See where electricity comes from,
how coal is mined at Falkirk Mine, walk through Coal Creek Station, the largest power plant
in North Dakota, learn about ethanol production and see the Garrison Dam.
The Coal Creek Tour fee is $135 per person (paid with registration).
The trip includes:
- Transportation
- Lodging (2 people per room for two nights)
- All meals except breakfasts and Thursday dinner.
If you prefer a single room, the registration fee is $200.
MLEC offers a FREE tour for high school students. Any sophomore, junior, or senior
next year is eligible. A drawing will be held to determine the trip winners.
