Operation Round Up
Operation Round Up® is a volunteer community support program designed to provide financial assistance to worthwhile projects and charities in our area. In essence, it's people helping people.
Mille Lacs Energy Cooperative members participating in the Operation Round Up® program provide dollars for worthwhile organizations and projects such as: Food Shelves, Habitat for Humanity projects, Little League, Dollars for Scholars, Fire and Rescue squads, school projects, youth programs, crisis centers, historical society needs, and many more.
Operation Round Up® funds are generated through a voluntary rounding up of cooperative members' electric bills to the next nearest dollar. This change goes into a trust fund administered by the Mille Lacs Energy Community Trust board. Donations are made to local organizations and worthy causes through an application process.
To receive a Trust application, contact Deb Chute by calling 218-927-8221 or 1-800-450-2191. Or send us an email at mlec@mlecmn.net. A grant application form is also available to print off here. The Trust Board meets quarterly, the second Wednesday in March, June, September and December. Applications are accepted at any time. Those submitted a week before the quarterly meetings will go to the board. Anything submitted after will be seen at the next board meeting.
